Home WHY SOLAR? Feed Tariffs

The UK Governmentis under a legal obligation to generate 15% of the country's energy from renewable sources by 2020. In order to help achieve these targets, the Energy Act was passed in 2008. It empowered the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to introduce a system of Feed-in Tariffs to incentivise small scale, low carbon energy generation.

The scheme began in April 2010, and it guarantees rates of rebate to be paid to householders who generate electricity from solar power and other renewable energy sources.
